{"id":2,"date":"2026-09-26T00:42:59","date_gmt":"2026-09-26T00:42:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jcso.ca\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2026-11-04T23:22:09","modified_gmt":"2026-11-04T23:22:09","slug":"join-a-committee","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jcso.ca\/index.php\/get-involved\/join-a-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Join a Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JCSO Committees<\/p>\r\n<div>\r\n<p>JCSO\u2019s committees provide opportunities for members and volunteers to contribute their experience, ideas, and skills to the organization.<\/p>\r\n<p>Committees work under the direction of the Board and support program delivery, organizational development, community relations, membership, education, youth engagement, women\u2019s activities, and administration.<\/p>\r\n<p>The bylaws identify the following standing committees:<\/p>\r\n<h3>Finance and Administration Committee<\/h3>\r\n<p>Supports policies and practices related to financial systems, internal controls, human resources, administration, and fundraising.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Public Relations Committee<\/h3>\r\n<p>Supports public awareness, communications, relationships with government and community organizations, and promotion of JCSO\u2019s projects and goals.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Programs and Services Committee<\/h3>\r\n<p>Develops and coordinates programs and services for JCSO members and the wider community.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Educational Programs Committee<\/h3>\r\n<p>Supports the development of educational programs, standards, projects, curricula, scholarships, and relationships with educational and funding organizations.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Women Programs Committee<\/h3>\r\n<p>Develops and supports programs directed toward women in the organization.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Membership Committee<\/h3>\r\n<p>Works to strengthen membership, reviews membership applications, and makes recommendations to the Board.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Youth Programs Committee<\/h3>\r\n<p>Encourages youth participation and develops programs for young people within the organization.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Join a Committee<\/h2>\r\n<p>JCSO welcomes members and volunteers who want to contribute to committee work.
